The value of the item is insured. The refund can be sent to you or them, depending who files the claim. If it’s lost, the shipper files the claim.

If it arrived damaged, usually the recipient files the claim – only because UPS or the USPS wants to see the damaged item and packaging.

The insurance is not eBays or PayPal’s – it’s the carrier.

If you receive the money back, just issue a PayPal refund.

Usually there is an investigation, depending on the value of the lost package, this can take some time. If it is a low cost, replaceable item, you can always send a new one and await refund from USPS. If he item is unique, then it would depend on who you set as the insurance recipient on the package on shipping. More data is included below from he USPS website.

    They all helped.

Just an FYI, From someone with a perfect 1400 seller score,( its actually higher then that, but im rounding)

    Dont only send USPS,

That will greatly limit your clientel.

UPS is the way to go.
and they give you a nice lil sticker saying it was “Packaged by the Experts” lol
